A Global Problem. A Simple Solution

  • Plastic toothbrushes are non-biodegradable and can take over 500 years to break down in landfills. During this time, they release harmful microplastics and chemicals into the environment, contributing to soil and water pollution.
  • Millions of toothbrushes end up in oceans each year, adding to the estimated 8 million tons of plastic that pollute marine environments annually. Most toothbrushes are made from polypropylene plastic, both derived from petroleum. The production process involves significant energy consumption and generates greenhouse gas emissions.
