Electric Toothbrush FAQs

What is a sonic electric toothbrush?

A sonic electric toothbrush vibrates its bristles side to side at very high speed. Ours runs at up to 40,000 vibrations per minute, which breaks up plaque along the gumline and between teeth while staying gentle on your gums.

Sonic or rotating: which electric toothbrush is better?

Both clean well. Rotating (oscillating) brushes use a small round head that spins back and forth, while sonic brushes use a regular-shaped head that vibrates. Many people find sonic brushes gentler on their gums. Read our sonic vs oscillating guide to compare.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 60 days on one full charge. It charges by USB-C, so it's easy to take travelling without packing a charging stand.

Is it good for sensitive teeth and gums?

Yes. Choose Sensitive mode and let the soft castor-oil bristles do the work, holding the brush lightly. Our guide to electric toothbrushes for sensitive teeth has more tips.

Does it have a pressure sensor?

No, our toothbrush doesn't have a pressure sensor. Hold it like a pen and glide it gently over each tooth rather than scrubbing. If you know you press hard, our buyer's guides compare models that have one.

How often should I replace the brush head?

Every 3 months. The green indicator bristles fade over time as a reminder. Our bamboo replacement heads come in packs of three, and our recycling and disposal guide explains what to do with old heads.

What warranty do I get?

New toothbrushes and handles come with a 2-year warranty, and refurbished toothbrushes with a 1-year warranty. The handle is designed to be repaired rather than replaced through our Circular Care System.
