Crescent Nest Is Now a Certified B Corporation

We have some exciting news to share as we kick off the new year: Crescent Nest is officially a Certified B Corporation! We’re incredibly proud to announce that our company has joined a global community of thousands of purpose driven businesses on a mission to use Business as a Force for Good™. Achieving B Corp certification means Crescent Nest meets the verified standards of social and environmental responsibility in business – in short, we’re using the power of business to help solve social and environmental problems while balancing purpose and profit in everything we do.

What Is B Corp Certification?

Certified B Corporations, or B Corps for short, are companies verified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Becoming a B Corp isn’t just a one time award, it’s a rigorous certification that evaluates how a company treats its workers, communities, and the environment, requiring a commitment to continual improvement. B Corps represent a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit, and they are required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders (customers, workers, communities, and the planet), not just shareholders. In other words, B Corps use the power of business to build a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable economy.

By becoming a Certified B Corporation, Crescent Nest now stands alongside inspiring companies like Patagonia, Allbirds, and Ben & Jerry’s in redefining what business success looks like. We’re beyond thrilled to be part of this movement of businesses that meet the highest standard of social corporate responsibility. For us, this certification isn’t the finish line, it’s a milestone that reinforces our mission and inspires us to go even further.

Our Impact Highlights: Sustainability at Our Core

Becoming a B Corp gives us a chance to celebrate what makes Crescent Nest special. We’d like to share some of the key impact achievements that helped us earn this certification and that inspire us every day:

• Circular Product Model (Repair & Reuse): Every Crescent Nest toothbrush is built to last, and built to begin again. Through our unique Circular Care System of “return, repair, reuse,” customers can send back used toothbrush handles to be inspected, repaired, and restored as good as new. This refurbishment program cuts down on waste and extends each product’s life, so a single toothbrush handle can serve you (and the planet) for years instead of ending up in a landfill. It’s our way of keeping products in use and sustainability in motion.

• Plastic Reduction (85% Less Waste): Traditional disposable toothbrushes create mountains of plastic waste. We knew we had to do better. With our modular design, you keep a durable handle and only swap out the brush head, resulting in about 85% less plastic waste each time you brush. In fact, by offering ethically made, modular toothbrushes, Crescent Nest “slashes landfill waste by 85%” compared to conventional all-plastic brushes. Each compostable bamboo head replacement means one less piece of plastic in the trash, a small change that adds up to a big impact for our planet.

• Sustainable Materials (Bamboo & Beyond): We carefully choose materials that are safer for you and for the Earth. Our brush heads are made from sustainably sourced, FSC certified bamboo that is home compostable, paired with bristles made from castor bean oil instead of petroleum based nylon. Even our packaging is eco-friendly, we use recyclable, FSC-certified paper packaging and avoid single use plastics. By incorporating renewable materials like bamboo, we’re reducing plastic in our products and supporting responsible forestry at the same time.

• Responsible Manufacturing: We believe that how we make our products is as important as the products themselves. From day one, Crescent Nest has been committed to ethical, responsible manufacturing, partnering only with suppliers that ensure fair labour practices, safe working conditions, and high quality standards. (In fact, our production is audited under the SMETA ethical trade guidelines for social compliance.) In other words, our toothbrushes are “ethically made” with respect for the people who craft them. We take pride in building a company that not only minimises environmental footprint but also uplifts everyone involved in bringing our products to you.

These impact initiatives are woven into the DNA of Crescent Nest. B Corp Certification gives us an extra vote of confidence that we’re on the right track, and it holds us accountable to keep raising the bar.

We’re also honoured to have been featured by B Lab Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand in their article, *The certification journey: Tangible take-aways from three new B Corps*. The feature highlights Crescent Nest’s modular sonic toothbrush design, FSC-certified bamboo brush heads, and our Circular Care System — including our approach to return, repair, and reuse. It also shares one of the ideas at the heart of our brand: that “the cheapest, cleanest product is the one you don’t have to replace.” For us, this recognition is a meaningful reminder that better oral care design is not only about performance, but also about durability, repairability, and taking responsibility for a product’s full lifecycle.
